The answer

$25,183

Roughly $25.2K.

The average Spanish wedding now costs €25,183, according to a Bodas.net survey of more than 2,000 couples who married in 2025 — and that leaves out the rings and the honeymoon. It works out at about €225 per guest, with the venue and catering swallowing 53% of the budget.

How to get close to this number

Multiply guests by cost per head. The explanation gives about €225 a guest, which is the standard way weddings are priced here — venues quote per person, so the guest list is the budget. Divide the total by that per-head cost and you get a guest list of a little over a hundred, which is a number most people can picture from weddings they have been to.

People tend to guess from the visible items — the dress, the photographer, the flowers — and land too low, when the banquet and venue alone take more than half of the money. The figure also counts only what couples on a wedding platform reported spending on the day itself: rings and honeymoon are excluded, and an average is pulled upward by a minority of lavish celebrations.

The guest-contribution convention is worth understanding on its own terms. Guests here are traditionally expected to give cash that roughly covers their own place at the table, so a larger guest list is close to cost-neutral for the couple. That is why weddings run large without being ruinous: the sticker price in the explanation and what the couple ends up paying are two different numbers.
